Attica! Attica! - "We'll Always Be Home"

Attica! Attica! - "We'll Always Be Home"

Last year's debut full length record by former Marathon vocalist Aaron Scott, under his band-moniker of Attica! Attica!  was one of my favorite releases of 2007, and my pick for most underrated/under appreciated records. While recording-wise, this song features some backing by an organ, when Scott performs it live a capella, it's beautiful and chilling. The dude has one of the best voices in modern punk rock, and this song proves it. Thankfully, there is video footage of him performing this, taken from a show in Syracuse, NY in January 2007 (which I happened to have been in attendance for). I present to you the video footage of Aaron Scott performing this song, because really, I think live is the best way to experience it.

New songs from Virgins

I'm not exactly sure how long they've been up, but I haven't seen this reported anywhere else. Orlando's Virgins have two new songs from their upcoming record available for streaming and download on their myspace page. The band features members of New Mexican Disaster Squad, Country Slashers and Polluted Youth and plays a style of gritty, melodic 80's influenced punk.

The record is called Miscarriage and is set to be released by Kiss of Death Records in the future. I can't find a release date and it's not listed on the label's website, but it will see the light of day eventually, if it hasn't already. It was just recorded in June though, so I doubt it.

Anyway, download "Atheist in America" and "Perfect World" here.

Paint it Black - "We Will Not"

What's next for Dan Yemin and company? Soulja Boy-esque YouTube superstardom? Only time will tell.
